The speed at which social media is growing always astounds me.  The figures inconceivable!

Today I have 2 links for you.  One is to a friend of mine Melonie Dodaro's blog where she has compiled a great infographic about social media stats for 2013.

Stats like:

  • 21% of the world’s internet population uses Twitter every month (Source: Global Web Index)
  • Two new users join LinkedIn every second
  • 300 million pictures are uploaded to Facebook every day via Instagram (Source: Media Bistro)

The other great website I want to share (thanks Ana from Traffic Generation Cafe for pointing it out) is One Second.  On here you can see the magnitude of what happens on social media every one second.

Do you know of any other great social media statistics we could share?

  1. Impressive stats, really!
    Also found that:
    – Of the total 1.2 billion Facebook users, 250 million use the phone to access it.
These numbers should keep us nimble! Thanks for the post!

  2. It’s incredible to put it into perspective, isn’t it – all these people out there doing what you are doing at the very same time…

Glad you liked OneSecond, Stacey, and thanks for the shout to Traffic Generation Café; right back at you in my latest Weekly Marketing Skinny.

    1. Hi Ana! Thanks for stopping by. It is completely amazing that people all around the world are doing the same thing at the same time. Makes me wonder what people did with all their time before!

I do like One Second and your blog is a wealth of information. Happy to share it anytime!

      Have an amazing week!
