Text, Video or Audio – Which is Better for Your Free Offer?

Building your list should be one of your main goals on social media – if not the main one.

The first step with list building is deciding what it is you can help people with. Read ‘What's the Point of Social Media?‘,  if you are stuck for ideas.

Once you know what you are going to offer, you then need to decide how you are going to create it.

Think about which format is easiest to put together. That is the key to deciding which one you will use. You might love writing but hate your voice being recorded, so it would be a natural choice for you to go for writing an ebook or a report.  If you hate writing and love talking then audio or video would be a good way to go. If you feel really shy don't choose a video option as you will continuously put it off and never have a completed product.  Pick the one you will procrastinate on the least.  Once you have a free gift or two out there in one format, you can start to have a look at the other options. Then you can start to attract people that like to read, listen, or watch videos. To begin with, stay inside your area of comfort to make sure you actually get it produced.

Ideally with your free offer you want the receiver to learn something, be able to implement it, and see a result with it.  That way people know you are someone that can help them get the results they want and will start to look at what else you have to offer.

The format I find the easiest is creating screen share video training. A lot of my free offers are a PDF with the key learnings outlined and then video training to accompany it.

Here is a list of different formats you could use for delivering your free offer.  Some are easier to create than others.
